Well done to the Horse and Plough

The Horse and Plough in Bingham is its regional CAMRA’s pub of the year.   The accolade, awarded by the Vale of Belvoir branch, acknowledges the pub’s dedication to real ale and its commitment to looking after its customers.

Branch secretary, Ed Taylor says: “We’re one of the UK’s smaller branches but incredibly committed to real ale and pubs.  Our pub of the year competition starts with members’ nominations, then all the nominators join to judge the entire shortlist.  It’s a thorough process, but it pays off when we find a worthy winner – spending lots of time in great pubs is a nice bonus.

Pub landlord, Dan Brown says the award means everything to him, his colleagues and his regulars.  “We’ve been working for this for nearly two years, and all the efforts to increase choice, improve the bar layout, and bring all the staff up to highest standards of service, have paid off.

“Now all we have to do is maintain this to repay our patrons for their support,” he says.

The Horse and Plough is operated by Castle Rock Brewery which took over its management in March 2015.
