“Many are in addition to our regular ales and craft beers which will also be available”, says organiser Tris Siddons. “I’m sure this is one of the largest in-pub festivals anywhere this year with a choice to suit every taste, strength and style.
“The main bar will showcase champion beers from across Britain, concentrating on winners from the last seven years. Here we’ll offer favourites including Timothy Taylor’s Boltmaker alongside newcomers . In the Dispensary, next door, we’ll pit cask against keg in a friendly competition that’s bound to lead to animated debate on preference, flavour and contrasts between how the beers are presented and dispensed.
“I’ve no doubt there’ll be some comments on the merits of Magic Rock Brewery’s Inhaler, for example, from the cask and from a keg. They’ll be side-by-side for easy comparison with other cask versus keg beers from Black Iris and Siren. Special ales will be featured in the conservatory.
“There’s live music and a pulled pork barbecue on Saturday, leaving Sunday for quiet enjoyment,” he says.
The Embankment pub’s winter ales festival is from Friday 25 to Sunday 27 November and admission is free.
