For us at Castle Rock November is known as BROvember – a month of fundraising for the John van Geest Cancer Research Centre on Nottingham Trent’s Clifton campus. Our autumnal beer Walrus becomes a charity brew with 20p per pint donated to the centre.

We’re holding a month of fundraising for the John van Geest Cancer Research Centre throughout November 2016.

Quiz night every Tuesday followed by a game of sticky 13s cash and beer prizes to be won, £1 entry. 10% contributed to Jon Van Geest cancer research centre.


The Horse & Plough have a raffle where lucky customers can be in with a chance of winning all sorts of beer and food related goodies.  1st prize 3 course meal for 2, 2nd prize a GALLON of beer or 2 bottles of house wine plus some beery merchandise, prze 3 ½ gaol on beer or bottle of house wine and merchandise. 100% of proceeds from the raffle go to the John van Geest Cancer Research Centre, with the draw taking place on Thursday 1st December at 6pm.


To show our support for the John Van Geest cancer research centre we will be donating 10p from every pint of Castle Rock beer and 50p from every sausage and mash sold.


Throughout the month of November well be donating to the John Van Geest Cancer Research Centre from the sale of Castle Rocks special Walrus Ale. Plus, on our Monday night quiz on the 28th it will be £1 per person with all donations going to the centre. A raffle will also take place on the night with lots of goodies to be won.


The ultimate fundraising day for Brovember. Our team behind the bar are growing their moustaches all month, so why don’t you and join in too? For anyone who brings their own shaver and shaves of their month long tash gets a free pint. We also have spinning bikes in the pub to see just how far our team can cycle.
