Pub openings are always exciting, electric events. There’s so much anticipation in the air, doubled with a lack of sleep and too much caffeine. You blink, and suddenly the place is full of people. Before you know it, the beers are flowing, and you’re surrounded by intrigued, supportive faces.
The opening of the Fox & Grapes, Castle Rock’s 23rd pub, was no exception. On 7th September, we opened the doors for a new era. From 5-7pm, the single-room pub was full of friends, family, colleagues, and local business folk. We were even visited by BBC East Midlands Today, streaming live on their evening show.
From 7pm, the pub was opened up to our wonderful customers and, somehow, we all managed to fit in! The Fox’s manager Danny Semak said the night was ‘superb’ and thanked everyone who came along.
We wanted to take this chance to extend on his thank you. We knew the Fox & Grapes (former Peggers and locally nicknamed ‘Pretty Windows’) was a very popular pub in its day, but the response and support from the people of Nottingham has been staggering. We are so thrilled to have you along with us on this adventure!
As we write this, the Fox has opened for a first ‘full’ day of trading. If you couldn’t make it down last night, pop on by this weekend and say hello. You can find out more about the Fox & Grapes here, and be sure to follow the team on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram for the latest updates.
