The Lincolnshire Poacher has been part of Nottingham's real ale drinking scene for so long that it's easy to forget that it only opened in the late 1980's, rising from the shell of the Old Grey Nags Head which had been closed by Shipstones.

In partnership with Wainfleet brewers, George Bateman & Sons Ltd, the 'Poacher' quickly earned a reputation as one of THE places in Nottingham for quality and choice of ale, a distinction it has never lost.

The large public bar is complimented by a large outside high walled smoking area, whilst the upstairs function room can seat up to 40.

Up to a dozen cask beers are on sale at any time, including several from the Bateman's range.

The Poacher celebrates the end of January with the full range of Newby Wyke beers and Sunday night music from the Fab Two.

Throughout February the Lincolnshire Poacher will be having a tasting of a different one of their Belgian bottled beer selection every night, with a promotional 'one night only price to match'.

MARCH
Throughout March at the Lincolnshire Poacher
In March the Lincolnshire Poacher are turning the front bar into a LocAle bar and will be filling it with beers from within a 20 mile radius throughout the month. Featuring beers from Amber Ales, Blue Monkey, Belvoir, Caythorpe, Derby Brewing, Full Mash, Magpie, Shardlow and any others we can get hold of alongside the usual 3 Castle Rock beers. This should mean some interesting local Stouts and Porters as we try to offer something a little weaker than the Castle Rock Extra Stout to anyone following the Stout and Porter Trail.
