The Lincolnshire Poacher has been part of Nottingham’s real ale drinking scene for so long that it’s easy to forget that it only opened in the late 1980′s, rising from the shell of the Old Grey Nags Head which had been closed by Shipstones.

In partnership with Wainfleet brewers, George Bateman & Sons Ltd, the ‘Poacher’ quickly earned a reputation as one of THE places in Nottingham for quality and choice of ale, a distinction it has never lost.

The large public bar is complimented by a large outside high walled smoking area, whilst the upstairs function room can seat up to 40.

Up to a dozen cask beers are on sale at any time, including several from the Bateman’s range.

The All Encompassing Beer Festivals of the Lincolnshire Poacher & the Bread and Bitter The North & South Divide. Featured beers in these two festivals are from breweries north of The Bread & Bitter and south of The Lincolnshire Poacher and will only be available at that pub respectively.70 Guest Real Ales over the weekend between both pubs. All featured beers will be valid on the "One Over The Eight" promotion.

OLD NICK TRADING - NEW RESIDENCY every Wednesday.
The Poacher became the new home of The Old Nick Trading residency in December 2011. This legendary Nottingham band describe themselves as Americana / Country / Folk.... and if you've never seen them, they're well worth a look... if you have seen them before you'll already know.

Music starts at 9pm and it's free of charge..... and we'll be making Cornish pasties and cheese, leek and potato for the vegetarians amongst us... which will set you back a couple of quid - but they are awesome. www.myspace.com/theoldnicktradingcompany
