Although built in the 1950′s, the Newshouse occupies a site which was first licensed a Century earlier. It was operated latterly by Home Ales and then Mansfield Brewery before being acquired by Castle Rock in 2002.
Nestling in the shadow of the imposing structures of Nottingham’s Lace Market area, the pub is very handily placed for visitors arriving by train, bus and now tram, as the terminus is a mere 200 yards away.
The Newshouse is a friendly, family run local with 3 Castle Rock ales, as well as up to 5 guest beers on the bar at any one time. The pub also offers very reasonably priced light lunches, as well as CAMRA discounts and traditional pub games.
