A relatively recent recruit to licensed premises status, the Kean’s Head celebrates a pub that once stood nearby. This noted hostelry commemorated the famous 19th century actor Edmund Kean, who once performed at the original Theatre Royale, which also stood on St Mary’s Gate.
Situated opposite the imposing St Mary’s Church in the historic Lace Market district of Nottingham, the Kean’s Head was re-opened by Tynemill in 2004 as the company’s first ‘No Smoking’ establishment. Now offering up to six cask beers, in addition to a range of continental brands, the Keans Head boasts very much a relaxed environment in a part of the city which hosts many uptempo ‘style bars’ and clubs.
