Beer lovers across the East Midlands have done it again by equalling our most impressive awards' cache at a single event.

The place was the Market Place, Derby; the occasion, the 39th Derby CAMRA City Charter Beer Festival and the awards were two for Midnight Owl and one each for Screech Owl and Elsie Mo.  We last took four awards at one event in 2014.

Lewis Townsend says the icing on the cake this time is that three of the awards were in the gold category. “Midnight Owl has proved once again to be a perfect winter warmer, gaining not just an individual gold but also going on to become joint East Midlands Champion Winter Beer, having won in its own old ale/strong mild category at the National Winter Ales Festival this February.

“Screech Owl’s gold was awarded in competition at the Chesterfield Beer Festival with the good people at the Hinckley and Bosworth Festival picking Elsie Mo.   A fine haul and one we appreciate immensely,” he says.
