Castle Rock's Yard Party dates announced for a two-day beer festival with live music and street food

2017 marked our 40th birthday, and to celebrate we threw our inaugural Yard Party.

It was a bit of an experiment for us to see how the space could be used. Following an expansion of the brewery warehouse a few years ago, our former cold store sat empty and waiting. Plus, when the brewery lot have made their way home (or to the tap), the yard also becomes a pretty great space for a party. Thousands of you came down, tried it out, tested it out, and decided that the brewery is the perfect spot for a beer festival.

So, after the success of last year, the Castle Rock Yard Party is back for 2018 – and this time we don’t have a reason aside from good ol’ fashioned fun.

The two-day beer festival will showcase some of the best beers from across the globe. The biggest beer brains of Castle Rock are combining their knowledge and contacts to bring you guys an impressive array of keg and cask beers, with 20 available at any one time. There’ll be street food featuring a classic British barbecue from the Vat & Fiddle and the most glorious meats from Smoqued – served from their bespoke 1973 Citroen H van.

We’ve called on our fabulous friends at the Maze – Nottingham’s finest independent music venue – to curate live music for the Yard Party. If it’s anything like last year, expect a mix of genres from some of the best local acts, bursting from a lorry in the brewery yard.

Plus, there will be events taking place in the Vat & Fiddle (our beloved brewery tap) throughout the festival, and Saturday includes a family-friendly afternoon with a section of the yard dedicated to entertainment for the sproglets. Entry for children is free, but make sure you add their ticket to your order to help us prepare!
