UPDATE 30/3 08:24 – Hardship fund

Thanks to the early sacrifice of the senior staff and directors, as well as a set of accounts well managed by our teams, we have been able to set a pot aside for our most vulnerable staff during this uncertain time. We also fully intend to pay all suppliers on Tuesday 31st and will be able to pay staff their 80% in April even if we have not by then received the funding.

We’re still not out the woods of course; this is an unsettling time and we’re still expecting to have to make some very difficult decisions.But we’re proud that we’re working hard to do what we set out to do – look after the Castle Rock Family and our suppliers.

UPDATE 27/3 23:19 – Takeout service restored

After careful consideration, we’ve decided to trial a collection only drive-thru based at our brewery. To start with, we’re offering a small range of Castle Rock beer to takeaway in 5L, 10L or 20L polypins, along with cases of Elsie Mo, Screech Owl and Harvest Pale bottles and 5L mini-kegs of Session.

Due to the constantly changing nature of this situation, we may need to amend or even suspend this service at short notice – so please enjoy and hopefully we can keep it going!


UPDATE 25/3 22:10 – Shop suspended

You may have read that the government have added off licences (including breweries with a licence) to the list of exceptions during the current UK lockdown. We immediately closed our online shop and pub takeout/delivery services yesterday as we we wanted to undertake a full risk assessment to ensure we weren’t putting ourselves or our customers at risk. Now that we have this government update, we will be looking to fully review our takeouts and delivery services – so watch this space!

We will be working on this over the next few days and all being well, you’ll have some delicious beer supplied by us in your fridge soon!


UPDATE 24/3 10:10 – Shop and pub takeout suspended

We’ve decided to temporarily close our online store. This will allow us to undertake a risk assessment and review our procedures.
 
In addition to this, we’re suspending all pub takeout and delivery services.
 
While we take great pride in being able to service you taste beer – whether by delivery or collection – your safety and well-being is our top priority.
 
Please keep checking back on here and on our website for updates. We are taking every step we can to ensure we will get through these tough times and can all have a beer together one day soon.
 
We’d like to thank each and every one of you for your support, likes, comments, shares, beer purchases and messages of support in our pubs too. As soon as things are safe to change, rest assured: We Will Be Ready.

UPDATE 23/3 11:10 – Pubs closed 2

Just a reminder that all Castle Rock pubs are now closed until further notice.

HOWEVER, that doesn’t mean you can’t get your hands on delicious beer. Stay tuned – we’re working really hard to get a really good take-out offer to you guys both in draft and in can, bottle and keg.

While we sort out a more permanent solution, in the meantime please get in touch with your local Castle Rock pub and find out more about what they’re offering on a take-out basis. We can arrange zero contact collections, and in some cases, delivery.

A reminder that this situation is changing daily so please keep checking back.

 


UPDATE 20/3 20:25 – Pubs closed 1

As most will have read or heard, the government has ordered the closure of all pubs in the UK. At the moment, we know about as much as everyone else in terms of the details, but we will keep everyone as updated as possible.

What we do know is that we will do everything we can to look after the Castle Rock family (customers and colleagues) and we truly thank you for your support up until now, and we hope for it during these strange times too.

We don’t need to tell you how much we love pubs. Looking at the upset and sorrow the mass closure has caused it is quite clear how vital they are to our society. So when this has settled down, expect us to be banging the drum on supporting local pubs even louder!

We’re going to work hard on ideas to keep us all motivated, busy and happy. Send us all your suggestions on social media.

In the meantime:

  • Support our brewery by visiting our online shop and ordering some delicious beer
  • Support our pubs by taking advantage of their lovely takeout options (food and beer – watch this space or call the pub)
  • Keep an eye out for updates…

We hope you will continue to support indie pubs and breweries like ours, especially at times like this.


UPDATE 16/3 – Yard party postponed

It is with regret that we have to announce the postponement of Castle Rock’s annual Yard Party in light of the Coronavirus outbreak. All ticket holders will shortly be contacted by Gigantic but we ask you to hold on to them if we can; our plan is to reschedule in September and your tickets will still be valid! Watch this space as we’ll be confirming the new date as soon as we are able.
