Our love of Planet Earth and Blue Planet (and we’re speaking for everyone at Castle Rock here, but also probably every human being ever?) is no doubt down to the fact that we all just love Sir David Attenborough. How could you not? For over 60 years he has been on our TV screens, sharing his passions and strong beliefs on our world and how we treat it. We’re captivated, and we finally stop to think about our planet and its creatures. In recent years, the visual quality has all but blown our minds. And accompanying these images (and the soothing sound of Sir Attenborough’s voice) there is always the breath-taking and perfectly harmonised orchestral symphonies – capable of producing goose bumps on our forearms and driving us to the edge of our seats.

It’s this universal love of the documentary series that inspired us to give away two tickets to Blue Planet – Live in Concert II as the ultimate prize for winning our selfie competition. But that wasn’t the only reason, after all, we could just give away some beer! If you scale down from the global projects Sir Attenborough and his team work tirelessly to alert us to, and home in on our own city, you’ll see people with that same unrelenting passion. It’s these people that have made the Hoodwinked Art Trail come to life: the people of Nottinghamshire Hospice, the artists, the sponsors – all everyday people who just want to do good. And so, it seemed particularly fitting – an immersive and magical performance as a prize for what we believe has been a fun and interactive addition to Nottingham’s City Centre. Two creative innovations, cherished in their own right, but both existing for very important reasons. Plus, this way the littler ones can get involved too. Over 50 primary schools are involved in the Wild in Art Hoodwinked Art Trail, while the money raised and donated goes to Nottinghamshire Hospice, where parents and grandparents are cared for. We wanted this prize to be something that transcends age.
