We are passionate about supporting causes we believe in and giving back in any way we can. Over the years, we have undertaken fundraising initiatives for an extensive list of charities and sponsored a huge number of events.
Each spring we hold our Yard Party, a weekend beer and music festival held in the brewery yard. The festival was created to showcase and celebrate the brewing industry, as well as local food vendors, musicians, artists and street performers. We’ve even had the pleasure of hosting Homeboys, the 2019 European Street Food Champions.
We’re enormously proud to be a Nottingham business. Castle Rock has always worked closely with other businesses, organisations, creatives, universities, and MPs, to help build a city we can all be proud of. Nottingham Comedy Festival, Nottingham Poetry Festival, and the Hockley Hustle, are just three of many Nottingham events which we sponsor annually.
Working with and supporting other breweries has always been important to us. Castle Rock pubs are known for stocking a diverse offering of interesting beers, many of which come from Nottinghamshire and the surrounding counties.
Showcasing the fine brews of small and local independent brewers is one of the joys of running pubs; collaborating with other brewers is one of the joys of brewing beer!
For many years, we have brewed the Nottinghamian Celebration Ales. These beers celebrate the lives of Nottingham’s heroes, from entrepreneurs to musicians to tv personalities. The range has celebrated some of Nottingham’s best-known stars, like actor Vicky McClure and cricketer Stuart Broad alongside unsung heroes and trailblazers, like George Africanus and Helen Watts.
Our partnership with Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust goes back 20 years, when the Trust’s Erin McDaid sat down with our founder Chris Holmes. From those embryonic conversations, a friendship grew that has helped generate over £130,000.
Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust is the county’s largest environmental charity – run by local people for the benefit of local wildlife. They manage nature reserves across the county, champion nature and inspire adults and children about the natural world. Together we are working to create a wilder future for Nottinghamshire.
A vast amount of the money was raised through the sale “wildlife beers”, where donations were made from each pint sold. Additional donations have been added over the years, while we always strive to help raise the profile of the Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust in any way we can. In recent years, this included our reserves series of beers, including Sherwood Reserve.
We are working to support the Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust in their efforts to nurture the Attenborough Nature Reserve and the many other reserves they have across the county for wildlife to thrive and communities can enjoy. Follow our social media feeds to find out more.
