Last Thursday, we launched our brand-new collaboration beer, “In the Meadows,” brewed in partnership with Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust – and it’s safe to say it was a huge hit!
“In the Meadows” is a golden honey pale ale made with honey harvested from the beehives on the roof of the Poppy and Pint.
The name was inspired by the Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust’s Meadow Appeal, which ran throughout August to help protect, restore, and sustain some of the county’s most precious remaining wildflower meadows. Since Castle Rock Brewery is based in The Meadows, this collaboration felt like the perfect match!

The launch event took place at the Canalhouse, where guests were welcomed with the opportunity to purchase a pint of “In the Meadows” before the festivities kicked off.
The evening began with a short talk from Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust about the appeal, and then Quizmaster Charlie from the Poppy and Pint got the quiz underway, with special rounds from both Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust and Castle Rock Brewery. A huge congratulations to the winners of the quiz who took home a £50 castle rock gift card and tickets to the Robin Hood Beer and Cider festival 2024!
The evening continued with an incredible raffle, and we’d like to extend a massive thank you to all the wonderful companies that donated prizes, including DHP Family, Trent Bridge, Festival of Food and Drink, Treat Kitchen, Doughnotts, The Watered Garden, Sneinton Cider Co, Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust, Lost City Adventure Golf and Stewarts Coffee.
To add to the excitement, we also launched our new limited-edition Nottinghamshire Wildlife t-shirts! These are now available to purchase on our online shop. 15% of the proceeds from each t-shirt sold will be donated to the Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust for partnering with us on this fantastic beer, to all the businesses who donated prizes, and to our amazing customers who supported the appeal. Finally, a big thank you to everyone involved in organizing and running this wonderful event!
