ABOUT THE PARTNERSHIP AND THE MEADOWS APPEAL

We have been partnered with Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust for more than 20 years now. Through creative projects like our series of ‘Natural Selection’ beers, which championed wildlife as part of the Trust’s Adopt a Species campaign and gave rise to over 100 beers, including the ever-popular Screech Owl, we have raised over £130,000 together to support nature.

Our alliance with the Trust began, like many of our stories, over a beer. Erin McDaid, Head of Communications and Marketing at the Trust, met up with our founder, Chris Holmes, with the hope of combining two of his passions: wildlife and beer. Over two decades later, our friendship with the Trust is stronger than ever, and we’re always chatting about what we can do next.

This beer was brewed in support of their new Meadows appeal, which aims to protect, restore, and sustain some of the county’s most important remaining wildflower meadows. Across the UK, it is estimated that we have lost 97% of wildflower meadows since the 1930s, but here in Nottinghamshire, experts believe it to be as high as 99%. Today, the Trust, which cares for nature reserves across Nottinghamshire, has launched a fundraising appeal to raise at least £10,000 to protect the meadows in its care, support habitat restoration, and sustain the annual cycle of management which supports an array of species – including vital pollinators and ground-nesting birds such as the skylark.

Read more about the appeal here.

We can’t wait to celebrate the launch with everyone. Tickets are extremely limited, so book yours now!
