TRAINING AND CAREERS

We believe in getting to know colleagues across every area of the business, celebrating their individuality, and helping them carve their own career. Every Castle Rockian is encouraged to use their voice, share their ideas and take ownership over new initiatives.

Each year, we come together with our annual Castle Rock party, held in the brewery yard. For one day only, Castle Rock pubs are closed to the public, and we come together for a day of celebrating. It’s our one opportunity to see our colleagues from across the business, in an industry that never sleeps.

We’re proud to have a low staff turnover of just 3%, which is 9% lower than the national average.

OUR POLICIES

Our policies are focussed on creating friendly, inclusive environments where all individuals feel safe and welcome. It is of paramount importance to us that Castle Rock encourages inclusivity, celebrates diversity, and cultivates kindness.

We are working hard to improve the accessibility of our venues by addressing a vaster range of issues and requirements customers may face when visiting their local Castle Rock pub.

We are also working hard to bolster our training programmes in areas such as mental health and wellbeing, suicide and intervention, diversity and inclusion, and communication skills.

THE HARDSHIP FUND

Castle Rock launched the Hardship Fund in response to the CV-19 pandemic and it remains in place indefinitely. The fund is designed to protect the most vulnerable members of the Castle Rock family, who can receive financial support in an emergency or in times of crisis. The initial funds were raised thanks to generous customer donations, and salary sacrifices made by senior management.

In order to apply for the Hardship Fund, colleagues must meet an eligibility criterion. The amount made available also varies on a case-by-case basis. Eligibility is assessed by a small senior team who process and review applications.

LET’S COLLABORATE

Long-lasting, positive change can be achieved if we work together.

We welcome ideas, advice and collaborative opportunities from our community. If you’re embarking on an environmental, creative or social initiative and want to chat, just drop us an email on admin@castlerockbrewery.co.uk or reach out to us on social media.
