ABOUT THE EVENT:

Based upstairs in the Canalhouse’s beautiful function space (and accessible by lift as required), our beloved quiz night with Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust is back! This time we are celebrating the work of their amazing rangers, and the work they do to keep Nottinghamshire wildlife thriving and safe, both for nature and for people.

Attendees will have the chance to try our latest collab beer, “Rambling Rangers.” A handful of NWT rangers and volunteers joined us to brew this quintessential British bitter, and clearly their green fingers work just as well with hops, as this smooth and refreshing beer has gone down a real treat. The perfectly balanced and well-rounded bitter comes in at 3.9% ABV and every pint sold raises money for the Trust. (If that sounds up your street, be sure to check out the option to purchase beer tokens with your tickets for a special event-only discounted price.)

We will also be holding a classic pub quiz featuring a round written by the Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust, on top of a general knowledge round, music round and more. First place receives a £25 gift voucher to spend in Castle Rock pubs. However, it’s the raffle that really gets people going!

Tickets are £1 or £5 for a strip. We’ve received some amazing prizes from local businesses, from tickets to the cricket at Trent Bridge to mini keg of beer from Lenton Lane.

Thanks so much to everyone who has supported the event with raffle prizes: Treat Kitchen, AXED Nottingham, Bird and Blend Tea Co, Lenton Lane, Trent Bridge and more to be announced soon.

ABOUT THE PARTNERSHIP AND THE RANGERS

We have been partnered with the Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust for more than 20 years now. Through creative projects like our series of ‘Natural Selection’ beers, which championed wildlife as part of the Trust’s Adopt a Species campaign and gave rise to over 100 beers – including everyone’s favourite, Screech Owl – we have raised over £130,000 together to support nature.

Our friendship with the Trust began in a pub, over a beer. Erin McDaid, Head of Communications and Marketing at the Trust, met up with our founder, Chris Holmes, with the hope of combining two of his passions: wildlife and beer. Over two decades later, our friendship with the Trust is stronger than ever, and we’re always chatting about what we can do next.

This beer was brewed in to celebrate the Trust’s amazing team of rangers, who work tirelessly to protect, restore and sustain their nature reserves and wider wildlife. The rangers are integral to the work Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust does, with their feet on the ground and their hands-on approach to protecting wildlife. They maintain all of their reserves and carry out essential maintenance work like scrub clearance or safe tree felling (if it has a disease such as Ash Dieback), but also habitat creation like pond digging and other processes to encourage and support more wildlife to thrive on their reserves. They do a lot that people might not see but the reserves would not be what they are without them, and the amazing volunteer teams behind them, too!

We can’t wait to celebrate with you all. Tickets are extremely limited, so book yours now!
