We thought we’d clarify what it means when a beer is labelled gluten-free.
Our beers marked as ‘gluten free’ are brewed much like a regular beer, typically using grains such as barley or wheat. However, during fermentation, the beer is treated with Brewers Clarex® – a widely used enzyme that breaks down gluten proteins.
After this process, the beer is carefully tested to ensure gluten levels fall below the recognised threshold of 20 parts per million (ppm), which is the standard for gluten-free certification.
Not at all.
Giving up gluten doesn’t mean giving up great beer. In fact, there should be no noticeable difference in flavour compared to beers that contain gluten – so you can still enjoy the same quality, character, and refreshment.
Our flagship beer Session – available in both keg and can – is proudly certified gluten-free and vegan.
Alongside this, we always aim to have at least one rotating, one-off hazy pale available that is also gluten-free and vegan, giving you even more choice without compromise.
Great beer, for everyone to enjoy.
