Huge tropical and citrus aroma and flavour with undertones of subtle resin and pine, followed by a thick, juicy mouthfeel, with a a delicate hint of bitterness to finish.
5.8% ABV – available now in keg in our pubs and beyond.
Our friends at Salt invited us to their amazing brewery to brew this collab beer. It was great to meet the team behind their delicious beers, see the brewkit and find out a bit more about their processes. We were looked after incredibly well and learned a lot. Thanks so much to the Salt Team.
The beer is sensational. It’s a 5.8% New England style IPA hopped with Citra, Simcoe, Mosaic and Galaxy hops. It’s dangerously drinkable for a 5.8%, full of the juice you’d expect of a NEIPA, with a really satisfyingly layered hop profile.
It’s a pretty standard NEIPA malt bill. We used Extra Pale Ale Malt along with Naked Malted Oats and Dextrin malt to increase sweetness and body.
There were Simcoe pellets and Citra Incognito (raw hop oil extract) in the whirlpool to provide the beer with a really solid layer of late hop flavour. We dry hopped with Galaxy towards the end of primary fermentation and then once primary was finished we dry hopped with Mosaic and Citra. The result is a very multi- dimensional and layered hop flavour.
We used London Fog yeast to ferment, leaving a residual sweetness and soft pillowy mouthfeel to the beer.
This beer would pair well with a really aromatic and spicy noodle dish.
