The intention for this beer was to brew a super sessionable, full-flavoured hazy pale that you’d be able to sink a couple of at your favourite pub. We also wanted a beer that punched above it’s weight in terms of ABV. For this we used a combination of malt, water profile and yeast to make it as soft and smooth as possible. We then used Cryo hops during the dry hop stage to intensify the hop character of the beer.
Three of our favourite hops were used on this one, Citra, Mosaic and Simcoe. Each provide their own distinct aroma and flavour, full of citrus, tropical fruit, berries and a little pine. A soft, chloride-heavy water profile rounds off the bitterness from the hops and provides structure to the beer. A London Ale iii yeast strain gives smooth body and subtle tropical esters. Finally, a malt grist of pilsner malt, oats and dextrin increase the full-flavoured and rounded mouthfeel.
Available in cask only, this beer is easy drinking and moreish. Perfect on it’s own, but would pair well with BBQ/burgers on a hot July afternoon.
