After only two days in the office, Rachel, our newest team member here at CRB HQ, popped down to London for their first beer festival representing Castle Rock Brewery. Read on for their take on Brew//LDN 2024…
This year, Castle Rock is pouring at Brew//LDN and so I leapt at the chance to jump on a train from Nottingham and head over to Southbank to see our sales team (Ian and Duke) in action.
At their new home, Between The Bridges (right next to the iconic London Eye), the UK’s largest craft beer festival has curated a fantastic selection of some of the finest craft breweries on offer in the UK.
Our own DDH Pale: Citra and Session is being poured from the main bar, just beneath the big screen.
We’re in good company, sharing a bar with By The Horns, LOAH and Neckstamper.
After snapping a few pics for socials, and whetting my whistle with a splash of one of my personal favourites (our own DDH Pale), I joined Ian and Duke who were chatting to the lovely brewers from Neckstamper. We sampled a very tasty NEIPA named Mizzle, which was very apt as the sunshine turned to rain!
The rain was mine and Duke’s cue to head for cover where we sought out new and familiar breweries. I really enjoyed sampling more beers and chatting with some of the guys from Turning Point and getting excited about our upcoming collaboration together!
My favourite new beers of the day were from Great Beyond Brewing Co. Their cherry and tonka sour Cherise was outstandingly fruity and just on the right side of a ‘mek yer tabs laugh’ sour.
We finished the day with last orders (for trade customers) at 5pm with a lovely drop of Apex from our good friends at Attic. And we have another cool collaboration coming up with them, too! Join us at this year’s Yard Party or Nottingham Craft Beer Festival for the first chance to try it.
I had an amazing time and it gave me a great insight into how the sales team work. Here’s to many more!
