It’s that time again! The Robin Hood Beer and Cider Festival is one of our favourite calendar events of the year. What’s not to like? Incredible selection of beer. Amazing ciders. Delicious street food. And loads of fantastic local breweries.
As ever, we will be bringing some special brews to the event. And this time around, we have something a little different for you all.
Back in June, we were kindly invited to judge at the legendary ‘Hop Idol’ competition, where local homebrewers had the opportunity to bring forth their latest concoctions and have them rated by people in the industry.
We tried a whole host of weird and wonderful creations and were really impressed with the beer that made it to the stop spot, courtesy of Mike and Mark, two long-time friends who got into homebrewing in 2020.
As the winners, they got to brew their recipe on our Pilot Kit and to launch the beer to the general public in a very limited supply.
That’s where you come in. We’ve decided to stash some of this wonderful beer away, keeping it under lock and key until the Robin Hood Beer and Cider Festival, so we can get it in front of a real beer-loving crowd and hear their take on it.
The beer, named, Enkelmouse, is a Patersbier, a Belgian ale typically made by monks, who chose to drink it as a session beer, as an alternative to the stronger Trippels and Dubbels. We will be pouring the beer on keg AND cask at the festival alongside an all-star line-up including collabs with Abbeydale, Siren, Osset and Attic.
It was a real pleasure having Mike and Mark over at our brewery for the occasion. We can’t wait for you all to try this exciting brew!
