Brewer’s Notes: Chocolate Orange Stout

Liv, our brilliant and lovely head of brand and communications, came up with the idea for us to brew this one. If it was going into your 24 pack of beers advent calendar, it would be behind door 24.

We wanted to brew a beer in honour of a Christmas confectionary staple that is eaten all year round. Our main regret is that this beer won’t divide into segments, but you can always share a can.

Building on what we learned from Oatmeal Stout, we tried to brew this beer with as much body as possible, using a combination of oats and dextrin malt, a low hopping rate, and the ever smooth and full bodied London Ale iii yeast.

We used a combination of organic cacao nibs, dried orange peel and 100% natural flavourings to layer and balance the chocolate and orange notes in this beer, and we hope that it brings a little festive joy to your day.

Available in keg (best enjoyed with friends towards the end of the night on Christmas Eve).

And in can (best enjoyed in the living room, with the ones you love, watching your favourite Christmas film (A.K.A, Elf).

P.S. Once Christmas is over, this beer will still taste amazing. Fact.
