Pete Hopwell, Jessica Collins, Vicki Saxby, Jon Edger and James Halfpenny from Castle Rock accepting the Hospitality & Leisure award.
On Thursday 3rd October a group of Castle Rockians merrily journeyed to the Business Masters Awards 2024, representing the pub group and brewery.
TheBusinessDesks.com’s East Midlands Business Masters Awards 2024 received over 150 entries this year and with Castle Rock on the shortlist, we headed to Nottingham’s Crown Plaza full of anticipation to attend the awards ceremony. We had been shortlisted in the ‘Hospitality & Leisure’ category alongside three other local businesses, Aquavista, Anoki and Morley Hayes.
Our table of ten included directors, Colin Wilde (MD) and Vicki Saxby (Operations Director), as well as a handful of pub managers and some of the brewery & head office team. Anyone that has attended an award on behalf of their company before will know that the worst part is that you can’t take everyone. (Although, that really would have been a party!)
After a wonderful night – albeit, spent on the edge of our seats! – we were over the moon to hear Castle Rock Brewery called to the stage to accept our award.
It is truly fantastic to see the hard work and dedication of our pub and brewery teams recognised in this way. And only a few months after being named the Pub Group of the Year at the National Pub & Bar Awards!
Whether you’re a punter in the pub, or a publican with your own, we are so grateful for the support we receive and which allows us to keep on doing what we love. Brewing beer and running pubs.
One thing is for certain, we’re not taking this for granted and nor will we ever rest on our laurels. Brewing beer is our bread, and running pubs is our butter. We are having the best time: collaborating with some of our favourite breweries in the industry and watching our pubs go from strength to strength. We’re not about to slow down!
