The Nottingham Shakespeare Company is back with a bold, raw, and seductive take on The Tragedy of Macbeth, touring the East Midlands from Wednesday 19th February to Saturday 1st March.
Since their founding in 2019, we’ve proudly supported Nottingham Shakespeare Company, with the upstairs function room at The Embankment serving as a regular rehearsal space. Dedicated to making Shakespeare fun and accessible, the company – led by director Michelle-Louise Wright – brings fresh, exciting productions featuring diverse casts and a commitment to ‘pay what you feel’ performances.
Fresh from the success of Henry V, the company now delves into Shakespeare’s darkest tragedy. This spine-tingling adaptation follows a couple consumed by ambition, exploring themes of desire, power, and the supernatural. Under the direction of the brilliant Michelle-Louise Wright, expect a thrilling, blood-soaked, and intoxicating reimagining of the infamous Scottish tale – complete with a seductive edge woven into the storytelling.

What better way to celebrate this dark and daring production than with a brand-new brew?
Following the success of ‘Nottingham Shakesbeer – We Hoppy Few’ last year, we’ve once again teamed up to craft something special. Our brand-new beer is a rich and warming gingerbread porter brewed on our Pilot Project kit. Infused with fresh ginger, this limited-edition beer is as irresistible as the play itself!
Name TBA! Keep an eye on the Nottingham Shakespeare Company’s social pages to guess what it could be for the chance to win prizes!
Available exclusively during the production – stay tuned for more details!
