Trifecta – Global Hop Brew With Arbor

Back in January, we headed down to Bristol for a collab with our friends at New Bristol Brewery (you can read about our trip here) while we were there, their Sales Director, Thomas kindly introduced us to James and Jamie part of the awesome team at Arbor, a fresh and fiercely independent brewery with a great reputation for craft beer. A few months later, we were back in Bristol to brew.

We teamed up with brewers Seán and Ella at Arboretum to brew Trifecta – a 4.8% Session IPA packed with tasty hops. It was a double brew, so you’ll find it pouring in both keg and cask – it shines in both.

A Trifecta of Hops

Trifecta brings together three standout hops from across the globe:

  • Harlequin (UK) – bringing sweet tropical fruit and delicate esters
  • Mosaic (USA) – for bold citrus and berry notes
  • Nectaron (NZ) – delivering stone fruit and passionfruit vibes

Together, they create a, balanced, and beautifully drinkable IPA that showcases a flavour of each region.

Pubs, Pints & Pub Games

After the brew, we caught up with Maggie, who used to run one of Arbor’s pubs and now brings her hospitality wisdom to the brewery. She shared some brilliant stories from her time behind the bar – the kind of chat that makes you love this industry even more.

Ella then pointed us toward some absolute gems for top-notch cask ale – including Hare on the Hill and The Hillgrove, which boasts an impressive 14 cask lines, all immaculately kept.

We headed over with the Arbor crew and had an incredible evening – made even better when Jon spotted a deck of Cards Against Humanity. A few pints in and things got very silly, very fast (as they should on a proper brew trip).

Coming Soon…

Trifecta will be hitting hand pulls and tap lines soon – the keg version will also be showcased at the Nottingham Craft Beer Festival. Big thanks to the whole team at Arbor for making it such a memorable collab. We look forward to the return visit from Arbor soon…
