To mark the end of an amazing collaboration with Emperor’s Brewery in our series of brews, ‘Storming the Emperor’s Castle’, we hosted a one-off charity finale event at the Embankment.
Taking place on Thursday 6th October, this was an intimate event with the aim of raising money for charity through an exclusive auction, raffle and beer and food pairing menu! All proceeds from these were donated to a local charity close to all of our hearts, Maggie’s Nottingham.
The Emperor Strikes Back was a collaboration with Emperor’s Brewery, Bang the Elephant and the Embankment to come up with some truly unique products and a menu that was carefully curated for the evening.
In the lead up to the event we ran an online raffle to win 6 of the Storming the Emperor’s Collection. These boxes were completely unique and there were only 7 in existence in the world.
Each box contained:
Our lucky winners of the boxes included:
Gareth Williams
Hugh Angseesing
Marc M
Mark Tunnicliff
The event also featured a raffle for Castle Rock Brewery and Emperor’s Brewery merch as well as a carefully curated beer and food tasting menu from Bang the Elephant, Castle Rock Brewery, Emperor’s and the Embankment.
After a good dose of food and strong beer, there was the unveiling of a never-before tried beer from Damian at Emperor’s Brewery. Damian stepped up and tapped the cask live on the night, followed by cheers from the crowd and a quickly-formed queue to try the new offering, ‘Black and Blue’.
Things kicked up a notch for the final section of the evening with some amazing prizes in the charity auction.
Items included the very last Storming the Emperors Castle Collection (signed by the brewers), an incredibly rare bottle of the first ever Emperor’s Brew and a ticket to an exclusive brew day with Emperor’s, Bang the Elephant and Castle Rock.
Each auction raised over triple figures and there was some entertaining friendly competition in raising the stakes, all in the good name of Maggie’s Nottingham charity. Ultimately, everyone was happy and lots of money was raised for a very worthy cause.
To date, we have raised over £2000 but to top it all off, Bang the Elephant ended the event by offering all proceeds from their remaining kegs from the evening to Maggie’s.
So, if you’d like to continue your support, get yourselves down to the Kean’s Head and try one of these fabulous brews!
Whack and Stroking the Aardvark available now for a limited time only.
Once again thanks to the Embankment, Emperor’s Brewery and Bang the Elephant for hosting, as well as everyone who contributed to the raffle and the event.
Thanks also to Maggie’s Nottingham for their support.
