Another year, another incredible celebration of beer!

We thought we’d take a brief moment to reflect on Nottingham Craft Beer Festival 2023.

Proceedings begun with an unmissable selection of craft beer tap takeovers, throughout our city centre based pubs. This was really a chance for us to celebrate a few breweries that we think are great and to share them with local craft beer lovers. We also wanted to continue the legacy of Nottingham Craft Beer Week, a highlight in our city’s calendar every year.

2023 NCBW Takeovers

Abbeydale at the Canalhouse

Heist at the Embankment

Three Blind Mice at the Newshouse

The Kernel at the Kean’s Head

Castle Rock Showcase at the Vat and Fiddle

Varvar at the Fox and Grapes

Arbor at the Stratford Haven

Thank you to everyone that took part on our NCBW Stamp Card Trail, we hope you enjoyed the sensational line up of beers on offer. And congratulations to those who completed their stamp cards, we’ll see you at the Robin Hood Beer and Cider Festival!

On the bar

We also used the festival as an opportunity to launch some of the collabs we’ve been brewing up this year, alongside some of our favourite UK breweries. Here’s what our festival bar looked like:

Attic Brew Co. x Castle Rock – Pick ‘N’ Mix – 5% ABV, vegan

A delicious lemon sherbet sour, which tastes just like Refreshers in a glass. Probably our biggest seller at the festival!

Abbeydale x Castle Rock – Menelaus – 5.5% ABV, vegan, gluten free

A new-school IPA celebrating UK hops Harlequin and Cascade. Galaxy and Loral Cryo in the brew bring tropical overtones, with an international twist.

Heist x Castle Rock – Refurbished Tranquility – 5% ABV, vegan

Pilsner packed with Riwaka and Nelson Sauvin hops. Up front citrus and a gooseberry melon melody on the back of the palate.

Castle Rock x Lock 15 – Musson’s Boom – 5.5% ABV, vegan

Peanut butter porter brewed with chocolate malt, cacao nibs, cold brew coffee and peanut butter extract. Brewed alongside our lovely American cousin, Mike Pfahl, who promises he’ll be returning to the UK soon!

Castle Rock Brewery – DDH Pale: Citra – 5% ABV, vegan

Castle Rock Brewery – Session – 4% ABV, gluten free, vegan

As ever, special thanks to everyone who came by, shared a beer or said hello. And thanks too, to everyone involved in putting together another fabulous beer festival. We really appreciate you all!

See you next time,
Team CRB x
