(l-r) Castle Rock’s Geoff Newton and Gary Franks with Ryan Doherty, Basford United FC’s commercial manager
Basford United FC, the city’s fastest growing football club has made an exciting new signing in time for the new season. They’ve signed the reliable, wily old veteran Harvest Pale and with plenty of loan signings on the horizon, all ready to grace the bar instead of the starting eleven. Our range of ales will be available at their Greenwich Avenue ground in time for the preseason friendlies. As part of a new sponsorship deal, Castle Rock beers will be available at the club’s three bars in early July, a beer festival and friendly against King’s Lynn on July 28, and for the rest of the season.
Chairman Chris Munroe says the season ahead will be an exciting one for the club. “Promotion last season has lifted the fans’ and players’ spirits and expectations. Our hospitality offering is on the up too with this new arrangement between the city’s largest non-league football club and Nottingham’s largest brewer. We’re delighted the brewery’s support will improve the match-day experience for us all,” says Chris.
Castle Rock chairman, Geoff Newton welcomed the deal. “Basford United strikes me as a club with ambitions, with a rapidly improving ground and a top notch squad. We wish them and their supporters a great season ahead.”
On behalf of everyone at Castle Rock, we wish Basford United all the best as the new season drawers nearer! You’ll be able to find Harvest Pale and Elsie Mo on the bar for the preseason friendlies.
