Next week see’s the SIBA Champions Beer Festival arrive at the Canal House for the third consecutive year, but with a twist. Tuesday 8th will see 50 Craft Keg Beers from Britain’s best small breweries being judged for the first time, then in the evening the doors will be thrown open to the public. Thursday 10th the judging for the 56 cask ales takes place and the 3 ½ day festival starts. All ales & the winning craft brews will be on sale to the public from 5pm and the festival will continue until Sunday or when all the beer is gone.
The Canal House will be serving up Pieminster pies, chips and peas upstairs throughout the festival along with their normal menu and specials in the main bar below. A special commemorative festival t-shirt has been designed which will be on sale along with other Castle Rock merchandise.
Whilst Yvette Storey, Manager and her staff make the final preparations a beer blogger in Boston, Massachusetts has written a piece on the festival http://www.beerbloggers.com/ It seems that we aren’t the only ones to be excited by the return of this great festival.
We hope to see you there!
