We’ve had quite a few questions and queries regarding our yard party, which takes place for the third year between 17th and 18th May 2019. We thought we’d take this opportunity to answer a few of your questions!
WHEN IS IT?
Friday 17th May, 3pm-10.30pm
Saturday 18th May, 12pm-10.30pm
WHERE IS IT?
Castle Rock Brewery, Queensbridge Road, Nottingham NG2 1NB (2 minute walk from the train station). Entrance to the event will be through the Vat & Fiddle pub.
We source some of the best beer we can get our hands on from the UK, Europe and the rest of the world, which you can try in keg and cask. Our friends at the Maze choose some of their favourite live music acts to perform. We’ll be showcasing vendors from Nottingham Street Club food, including plenty of delicious food from Smoqued, Homeboys, and on the Saturday from Big Melt, to. Plus, the Vat & Fiddle will be selling cobs & snacks.
We’re also running free brewery tours again on both days, the Old Cold Store is launching its first Castle Rock Comedy Club show in Comedy Corner and we’ll also be revealing more surprises throughout the party.
HOW MUCH BEER WILL THERE BE?
40+ keg beers, served over 20 lines. Once a beer runs runs out, it’ll be replaced with an equally exceptional beer.
Up to 20 cask beers, served straight from the cask, all available from Day One.
WILL THERE BE CIDER?
Yes, we’ll be sourcing some real cider.
WILL THERE BE OTHER DRINKS?
There will be a keg lager and keg cider available. There will also be soft drinks, juice and water available from the Vat.
HOW MUCH ARE TICKETS?
Full price tickets cost £7.50 on Friday and £10 on Saturday. We’ve kept the Saturday price the same as 2018. Not only that, but if you are quick enough, we’re doing TWO Early Bird releases at a reduced price.
WHERE CAN I GET TICKETS?
Tickets are available via our friends at Gigantic. Go here to get them. If you dare risk it, we’ll have a small number available on the door, too.
WHY DO I HAVE TO PAY TO GET IN?
Events like this are not cheap to put on. In addition to costs that are associated with running a pub or bar, there’s also the live artists, sound engineers, child-friendly entertainment, security and licensing – and there’s a lot of preparatory work that goes into the event too. Your entry fee and purchases cover all of this and help to support live music, local business, and this wonderful brewing scene. In exchange for your entry fee, you’ll also be able to go on a free brewery tour (normally £12pp), a glass AND we’re giving everyone a sheet of 50p off vouchers for all Castle Rock managed pubs (T&Cs apply). Should the event make a profit, our aim would be to reinvest that to improve the event and even make it happen more regularly.
WHY DO I HAVE TO PAY A TICKET FEE?
Gigantic charge a ticket fee in exchange for providing a safe & reliable ticket service. Buy agreeing to pay the transaction fee you are helping to support a local business.
CAN I BRING MY CHILDREN?
Children are more than welcome along, on the Friday and Saturday, however from 6pm it will be adults only. Anyone under the age of 18 will be given a wrist band upon entry. As there’s no child specific entertainment this year, children go free with a paying adult. And don’t worry – we’re pretty confident the entertainment we have planned transcends age – so everyone should have a great time regardless!
WHAT WILL THE BEER LIST BE?
All updates in this area can be found on the Facebook event page or our website. Like our pubs, this event is about choice. There’ll be Castle Rock beer, some of our local favourites and then some wonderful beer from the rest of the world. Ultimately, this event is about showcasing some of the most wonderful brewers around – so there’ll be a big mix of brewers and styles.
