The Great Crickety Bake Off and 21 Walks from the Cricketers Rest Guidebook Launch | Monday 1st December

Got the Great British Bake Off blues? Well you’re in luck! The famous Great Crickety Bake Off is back for 2025 at the Cricketers Rest!

Simply bring down your home-baked sweet or savoury treats before 7pm to have them entered into the competition! Judging starts from 8pm. Sweet and savoury categories will be judged separately.

Plus, celebrate the launch of the 21 Walks from the Cricketers Rest Guidebook written by the amazing Trevor Riddiough and Liam Stevenson, the pubs very own assistant manager! This new guidebook follows the success of Trevor’s previous book, 100 Walks from the Poppy and Pint, which raised an incredible £2,000 for Friends of the Hook. This time, all proceeds will go towards Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust, helping them continue their vital work in protecting local wildlife and habitats.

About the Partnership

We have been partnered with the Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust for more than 20 years now. Through creative projects like our series of ‘Natural Selection’ beers, which championed wildlife as part of the Trust’s Adopt a Species campaign and gave rise to over 100 beers – including everyone’s favourite, Screech Owl – we have raised over £130,000 together to support nature.

Our friendship with the Trust began in a pub, over a beer. Erin McDaid, Head of Communications and Marketing at the Trust, met up with our founder, Chris Holmes, with the hope of combining two of his passions: wildlife and beer. Over two decades later, our friendship with the Trust is stronger than ever, and we’re always chatting about what we can do next.

See you there!

If these events sound like a bit of you and you fancy helping to raise money for such an incredible charity, we hope to see you there!
